The Armor of God

My dearest readers, warm Christian greetings to you today!

I am opening a new poll today, and I hope that all of you will participate in it.

Today, I would like to discuss with you the subject of the armor of God.

Why does one need an armor? First of all, who needs an armor to protect them? A soldier in war, right?

We Christians are soldiers in war against evil. In Ephesians Chapter 6, verse 12 says:

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We are in a constant war against the devil. In our lives, when we live in the middle of this chaotic world, the armies of the devil are constantly trying to attack us and defeat us.

Have you ever wondered why we, the children of God, trying our best to be righteous and loyal to God, have to face the greatest and deepest hardships? I know I have. This is all part of the spiritual war we are facing. Our God has recruited us into His mighty army to fight against all evil and the devil and we must be courageous to fight with joy for our Lord.

Most of the people around us have sadly been influenced the evil powers of the devil, and so they are not having to face as much hardships in life as we are, because they are the children of the enemy. But we are not, and so that devil will constantly try to attack us and irritate us, because he cannot stand to see you and me being loyal to the Almighty God.

Always remember that in the end, victory is our Lord’s. We wrestle “not against flesh and blood”. This means that we are not in war against the evil people on earth. Our enemy is not a human or animal or anything with flesh. Our enemy is of a spiritual form. Lucifer is an evil spirit. We are here to fight against the spirit that dwells in the evil people and makes them act as they do.

We are here to fight against the troops of the devil that linger around to penetrate into human lives and cause illnesses, grief, sorrow, war, and hatred.

To make sure we are successful in this war, what must we as loyal and fiery soldiers do?
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians Chapter 6, verse 13)

The armor of God is what we need in order to survive this battle and claim victory in our Lord’s name. Now this armor is made of many components, each of which we MUST HAVE in order to survive and fight:

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

1. THE BELT OF TRUTH: You must have a belt of truth “girt” around your loin in this war. Now what is this belt used for? For the old Roman soldiers, the belt was a crucial part of their armor, because without the belt, they would have nothing to hold their scabbard in place, which is where they kept their sword. So if you do not have a belt, then you have no place to keep your sword, and you are basically charging against your enemy with no weapon.

This means that you and I must train ourselves to live in truth. We the children of God must never practice false talk and lies in life, because if we do, then there will be nothing to hold our weapon of “the word of God” in place. It all goes together. The word of God is the pure truth of the whole world, and it cannot be upheld if we also do not hold truth in life.

As time is limited for me this morning, I must now stop here, but next time we meet, we will definitely talk more about the armor of God.

Till then, may the peace of Christ be with you and may God bless you!
