Do you feel like God is moving away from you? Do you ever feel like there is such a HUGE distance between you and the Lord? Do you feel like you are never going to reach God?
I’m here to tell you that you’re WRONG. No one wants to hear that they are wrong. Everyone nowadays likes to listen to sermons and messages that justify their acts. Everyone wants to hear that it’s not their fault. You want to hear that “circumstances” are to blame. You want to hear that “anyone else would have done the same” or “how can someone withstand such temptation?”.
Well let me tell you something this morning: The Word of God is a TWO-EDGED sword!!! It pierces the listener as well as speaker with the blade of truth. That blade goes deep into your soul and penetrates you, but that hurt makes you a better person. The sword I am talking about is painful, but this same sword will bring you to the light and be your redemption.
Are you a sinner who believes that you don’t have a chance at getting closer to God?
Then we need to have a talk. Consider this blog post as a conversation that I’m having with just you, my friend, and no one else.
God never changes. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is forever faithful, and steady, and He keeps His word ALWAYS!
It is you and I , us humans, that change and run away. We move away from God, because of the sin that takes us away from Him. That is precisely what the devil wants to accomplish. The devil fills us up with the need to sin, and sinful thoughts, and sometimes some of us eventually fall for it one way or the other, and sin. The devil makes sin seem so easy a path to follow, and he makes it seem like it’s perfectly alright.
Well, he’s WRONG. Satan is a deceiver. He would be the happiest if you and I were separated from God by our own guilt from sin. So what does he do? He makes us sin, making us move away from the Lord ourselves, and then fills us with thoughts of doom, as if we can never return to the old ways.
Well, let me tell you something: it’s never late to return to God. Our God is a just God, but He is also the most PATIENT. Jesus Christ forgave the people who murdered Him for all the wrong reasons. He was utmost patient with the foolish humans who thought He was a liar. God is patient with the whole world, and He is willing to give people chances to change. That includes you too.
No matter what the devil is telling you about how great your sins are, ignore that. Clear your head and think straight. You still have the chance to come back to the Lord. You are a creation of God. You are the one who decides whether or not you can come back to the right path.
Did you sin so many times that you think God is tired of forgiving you? Well repent again, but this time, make it permanent. Make a decision to turn to the Lord and repent. And if you don’t know, Heaven rejoices most when a sinner comes back to the Lord. Make heaven rejoice and return. If you move a step closer to God, He will be another step closer to you.
