“The Kindest Eyes” Poem

A crown of thorns upon His head
Adorns His face in crimson blood.
His clothes, a pile of rags be dyed
In painful shades of sinless red.

I peek between the many men
That crowd around this man condemned
Whilst try my best to catch a glimpse
Of Who this man be, standing hemmed

And see beneath the blood and tears
And wounds and scars repulsive, oh!
A pair of eyes that gaze at me
And in that chaos, kindness show.

Those eyes doth gaze, my soul, within
And sift my thoughts in search of love.
And rather than to find their goal,
Do find a sinner’s heart thereof.

And as I doth stand quiescent there,
Caught in a gaze at those two eyes,
Yes, oh! Those eyes be pearls of wine –
I hear a thousand rising cries.

Some cry of death to be His fate
Some other cries do echo hate
And only few request to free
This man Whose eyes still gaze at me.

And then a voice is heard that talks
Of not a kinder word to hear,
A judgment falls of death on a cross
At which the mob does echo cheer.

I wish to not mere blink as if
I might lose sight of my soul, its root
But then I wonder with a sigh,
“Does He not wish the least to refute?”

And then as though an answer sent
He looks once more, mine eyes in sight,
And feels my soul, a song of sweet
That tells me “Do not worry dear”.

And then as though a sack at hand
They push and shove this man away
And at that very moment, sad,
My heart resounds of a sinner’s pray.

When the living play with the dead

Ghosts, poltergeists, apparitions, paranormal activity – you name it, anything and everything that can be categorized or associated with those words will pique the interest of ANY human being, believer or not!

It’s a curious topic for everyone, this possibility of dealing with something “supernatural”. I have known people who believe in “ghosts” and “spirit entities” who are yet unable to believe in God. Puzzling, isn’t it? Well, there are some things you and I need to discuss, my dear readers:

Do ghosts exist? Is the existence of ghosts or former people’s spirits something supported by scripture?

There are many people out there who will claim they have experienced ghosts, either by catching a glimpse of one or sensing some dark presence in the house, or waking up to the sounds of footsteps or other activity inside their homes. So of course there is wide speculation that ghosts do indeed exist.

And I’m here to tell you that in a way, they do. People have this notion that ghosts are the spirits of deceased humans, for some reason lingering around the earth instead of “moving on”. That part is the lie.

Here’s why: God doesn’t leave any crucial information like this to the imagination. The Bible  tells us what happens to the spirits of people who have passed away.

Dead people are asleep. They do not wander the earth as spirits to haunt people. They simply go to sleep in their graves.

“Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;” (Psalms 13:3)

In this Psalm we see death being described as a state of sleep.

Also notable is the time when Lazarus had died, and Jesus went to raise him from the dead. Jesus said to them:

“….Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.” (John 11:11 )

Lazarus was in the grave, and yet Jesus told them that he was merely sleeping. This then would explain why we read that the dead in Christ shall rise first upon the Day of the Lord:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

This verse talks about the end times when Jesus shall return to take His bride, the Church. If the dead are to rise up to meet Jesus, then surely they are still on the earth somewhere, i.e., sleeping in their graves, which is again mentioned in the previous verses leading up to 1 Thessalonians 4:16 several times.

Do these sleeping dead know what is going on in the earth after their passing away? Are they conscious and awake?

No.

“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6)

Basically, they have no more part in the earth. Whatever happens on the earth after they pass has nothing to do with them, they have no influence over anything, their memories perish, as do all their previous emotions.

So the final answer is that the current idea of “ghosts” that haunt others or return to visit loved ones, as cool as it may sound, is NOT supported by the word of God.

So if ghosts are not the spirits of those who have passed away, what are they exactly?

That, my friends, is a topic for another week!! Stay tuned, and until then, God bless!

So what is the purpose?

[Blogging 101 assignment #1]

I made my first post to this blog in 2012. Back when I had lots of time on my hands, things were easy.

But now I am swamped with several responsibilities, and I hate how much it has affected my blogging experience.

So, just as a reminder to me and to my readers, I blog so that I can share with the world my experience as a Christian. I want to share my thoughts about getting closer to God.

I want my blog to help others grow closer to God as well. I want to share my thoughts about Bible verses that I study.

That being said, I will post to this blog at least once a week this year. How will I keep up with it? It will probably be hard at times, but I will be reading the Bible and studying daily, so I’m not afraid of being at a loss of topics to discuss.

Let’s make this year the best!

The Chariot Wheels of the Enemy / Terrorists fear snakes and bees

The enemy is never going to gain the power to follow you as long as you follow God the Lord. God will destroy him in his path and make history of his army.

We have all read the wonderful and inspiring story of Moses and the children of Israel as they were being followed by the Pharaoh and his army, and were trapped between the approaching army and the sea. They were afraid, and yet God spoke with Moses:

“21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.(Exodus 14: 21-23)

God first divided the waters of the sea so that the children of Israel could cross on dry land to the other side. And what did the enemy do? The Pharaoh and his army chased after them and tried to cross through that dry land as well. BIG mistake they made. When the Almighty God opens ways for His children to escape or be saved, those ways are intended ONLY for His children, and no matter what the enemy tries to do to take advantage of that open door, it will only become a reason for sorrow for the enemy. Read on:

“26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine handover the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.” (Exodus 14:26-28)

The waters surely came back together when Moses stretched his hand out again over the sea, and basically drowned the army of the Pharaoh. “..there remained not so much as one of them”…

Why am I mentioning this story today in my post? Because we children of God have reason to rejoice. I thank the Lord for allowing this humble blog of mine to reach all the various countries of the world that I can see on my map as I check the statistics every day. And now I want to share with the world something that maybe some of you have not heard of.

Look at these pictures and guess what these are:

The one on the right over here is a recreation of the shape of the wheel inside the coral to give us a rough idea of what it would look like if the wheels were not covered in coral.

These are all the REAL remains of the chariot wheels of the Pharaoh!!!

These were found in the Red Sea, underwater, where the children of Israel crossed!! An archaeologist named Ron Wyatt is the man who worked hard on discovering these and many other real remains from the Biblical stories. According to him, the coral was the medium God had used to preserve and protect these remains for our proof.

Pictures like these and news like these give us hope and courage for the fact that nothing in the Bible is a lie!! The stories in the Holy Bible are real accounts of what happened, and regardless of whether or not someone is willing to believe in it, we children of God know that it is nothing but the truth.

This morning I want all of you to know one thing for sure: The God that saved the children of Israel is still capable. He’s stronger than ever and He never changes. He will continue to save His true children from the hands of evil.

If you’ve been following the latest news, you will find that a terrorist group which has been capturing christian young women and children and hurting them have been in trouble.

Apparently a group of snakes and bees have started attacking these terrorists and they 10477093_848531808505250_6045845340954553254_nhave started fleeing the forest. Several of their leaders have died. They say they believe that these attacks are caused by the spirits of their victims haunting them.(Click here for the news report)

Well, in reality, it is the almighty God in heaven sending a sign that He does not approve of the torturing of these children of God. His hand is stretched in revenge. The Father in Heaven is starting to show His wrath at the relentless suffering they inflict upon our poor Christian brethren there.

I believe that God will continue until these children are released!! Where no man can interfere, God has stretched His hand from heaven to help our girls suffering there.

This and many other experiences just prove that the Father in Heaven is alive and still acting upon the cries of the innocent! His power is with us!

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)

And as long as God’s power is with us, no evil can harm us, no army can follow us to our land in heaven, and no enemy like the Pharaoh of the old times will be brave enough.

We are the children of God!!!!! Let us keep faithful and still keep peace with everyone while in our hearts being comforted of the fact that Jesus Christ is standing by our side.

May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Love is Patient

Warm greetings to my dearest readers this morning. I apologize for not posting last week.. Today I would like to talk more about love.

One of the main commandments of Jesus Christ, our master, is to love one another. Love your friend like yourself. Love everyone, even your enemies. That is how we can identify the true Children of God in this chaotic world. By our love, we can find one another.

Have you ever thought of how loving our God is? We all talk on and on about how “God is love” and that He loved us so much He died for us, but do you ever seriously stop and think for a second, just how much He loves us?

People around the world still hate Jesus Christ and His followers, and it is really sad to see that Christians are being mocked for our belief and for telling the truth and trying to save people. Let’s face the truth – things are not as pretty as we think. The world still hates us more and more.

And why do they hate us? Because they do not have Christ, the ultimate form of love, in their hearts. God is almighty and powerful. He is the most powerful Being to ever be, and yet why did He let His only begotten Son die on the cross, being ridiculed by His enemies?

Why did He not use His power to save Himself from the cross? Why did He not use His power to stop the hammers of His enemies from nailing Him to the cross? Why?

Because He loved us, and He was dying for us. He endured all that torture silently, when He could have saved Himself at any time.

Being the children of God, we must learn to practice this patient love in our lives. Be patient to everyone. Forgive to your limits and beyond. Love people when they hate you.

Declare victory over hatred by the ever-growing love given to us by our Lord. Our love is what makes us different from the world. Our love is, my friends, what makes us isolated in this world, but our love is the light of this world. Every time we show kindness and love to those around us, we are spreading the comforting light of Christ, and we are defeating the devil’s plans.

So let us forget our hate and sorrows, and forget the wrongs of others, and try to make a change in this world.

Your Shoes of Peace

Greetings my dear readers!! Welcome back! This is our first post for the year of 2013, so may I start off by saying thank you once again for all your support, and may I take a moment to thank the Almighty God for His kind grace on this blog.. for giving me the right words and the right topics to write about.. for giving me the inspiration to write..

I hope you all had a nice New Years!

Now, onto the subject of thought – the Armor of God. We discussed the importance of the Belt of truth and the Breastplate of righteousness. Now if you remember the verse: (Ephesians, chapter 6 verses 14-17)

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

3. THE SHOES OF PREPARATION FOR THE GOSPEL OF PEACE

You feet must be shod with the “preparation of the gospel of peace” which means that you must stand ready as ever to spread the message of peace among the world.

The shoe is what protects your feet when you charge towards the enemy. Without a good caaog3shoespair of shoes, your feet would suffer from the stones and thorns of this world, and no matter how energetic you are, you wouldn’t be able to fight as well because you cannot move as you feet are injured.

This means that you must be prepared to accept as well as spread the gospel of peace. You see, if you do not  show enthusiasm for Christ’s message of peace, then how would you be able to stand and fight strong in this war?

Another question that may arise in your hearts may be “How does a soldier at war benefit from the gospel of peace if they’re trying to defeat the enemy?”

Well, the peace of Christ is what helps a child of God endure through everything. You must keep in mind that this war is not physical, but spiritual, and therefore, it is an ongoing war.. it happens everyday, whether you notice it or not.

soldier for GodEveryday, when you face hardships, feel sad, become unable to be your best for God, these are all times when the devil is trying his best to attack you and discourage you.. but no, in those hard times, like I always say, pray. Pray to God, and find strength in Him.

Once the peace of Christ overcomes your heart, then no matter how many trials and tribulations the devil brings in your life, you will be able to withstand it all, because the practice of Christ’s peace is what shoes your feet, and as long as you keep those shoes on, no matter how many thorns or stones you have to step on, they won’t affect you and you will be able to fight strong.

Spread this gospel of peace, be prepared to share it with the world every single day. Prepare your feet to carry this gospel of peace enthusiastically, and prepare yourself to fight the enemy that is vainly trying to stop you.
