New Year: Thankful Reflections

With 2016 just a few hours away, I sit down to reflect upon everything that happened in 2015. Resolutions are not a tradition with me, because resolving to do something at the beginning of a year usually ends up with me having too many other responsibilities interfering.

I prefer to take time to be thankful for everything the past year has brought into my life. I believe this is a very positive way to see the new year – being thankful to God and to those around you for everything good in your life, and then also thinking about all the bad that happened in the past year, being thankful for all the lessons you learned from them.

In 2015, I matured. I learned to say no to certain things and to certain people – both of which would hinder my progress. Saying no is painful, but in certain situations it has to be done for the better good of everyone.

In 2015, I made new friends. I said hello to a new family in my new workplace and academic environment.

In 2015 I laughed to my heart’s desire. I also cried buckets’ worth of tears in secret. Memories were made.

In 2015, my heart was broken by the crushing of some dreams I had, despite how selfless I thought they were. I chose not to ask God why, because He certainly had His reasons.

In 2015, I learned to rejoice in the failures I brought upon myself in life. I learned that perfection is not humanly possible, but yet perfection is what we should try our best to obtain so that we may realize the best of ourselves. No one is perfect but God.

In 2015, my faith was renewed. I have a seed of new hope inside my heart. In a world that is fast entering a dark phase of evil and wickedness, my heart has found hope in the promise of Jesus Christ and the eternal life of peacefulness He grants His followers. I have learned to put faith in nothing else but in Him and that promise of His. This helps me fight through the challenges of life with the right perspective.

I have learned to truly love people, both friends and enemies. Before, I knew that God wanted us to forgive our enemies, but I did not know how. I would say “I forgive them” but would also keep remembering the pain and hurt that people brought to me and my family. I would keep holding onto memories of the loss and struggles we faced as a result. But now my memories are cleansed of all that.

Now my life is filled with new purpose, to the point where I have no more time to brood upon the negativity of the past. I now truly forgive everyone of the past and have forgotten every wrongdoing done towards me. I also hope with all my heart that God has forgiven me of my wrongs as well, and for this I pray every single day.

I hope that in 2016 I will be of more use for God and for the advancement of His kingdom. I will continue to pray for God to use me according to His will, and that no matter what challenges or pain I have to face because of that, I will rejoice regardless, given that He sees me worthy of that.

No evil, no sorrow, no loss, not even the devil himself can take away my happiness that I have found in the one, true love of my life – JESUS CHRIST. I truly believe He will protect me and my family until we have fulfilled our mission, and He will never abandon us.

I pray that you are also able to forget the loss and pain of the past, and that you are able to find new purpose and strength in the Lord. May the good God Almighty bless this coming new year, and grant us all the strength and willpower to face the good AND the bad.

Let us all take a moment to be thankful for all the blessings God has brought into our lives.

Love you all, my dear readers! ♥

What is the devil doing?

Good morning dear readers, this is a beautiful day! Let us continue our subject of thought, shall we?

Last time I explained to you exactly what the devil wants you to think. He disguises himself

Yeah, this guy IS NOT YOUR FRIEND..

Yeah, this guy IS NOT YOUR FRIEND..

as “alien beings” or whatnot to make you think that there are actually extraterrestrial creatures out there, “watching over you”. Please, my dear friends, do not be deceived.

Like I said before, the devil will disguise himself as an angel of light to trick the people of this world and make them doubt the Word of God.

Now,  the devil is always on the look out to harm you if he gets a chance. But do not be afraid, because we can make sure that he doesn’t get a chance like that.

First of all, if you are being tortured by any sickness or illness, or if you just can’t find peace of mind, then you must realize it is the doing of the devil, and not the Lord.

In Luke, Chapter 11, verse 14, we read of how a dumb person got healed:

“And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the jesus-heals-blind-mandevil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.”

It turns out that it was not the person that was dumb; it was rather the devil that had caught hold of him that was dumb. The devil had the defect, and so when he caught hold of that person, his defect played out as the person’s defect. Do you see how the devil can make his own characteristics play out in you? This is the same way that some people do the most devilish things to others around them. Some people commit such heinous crimes to other innocent souls, that anyone would wonder if a normal human would have the heart to do such a thing.. Yes, it’s not human nature to do these evil things. It is none other but the devil. The devil is very tricky, and you have to be careful and strong in your faith to repel him.

This is why I urge you to realize that the devil is the one responsible for all your illnesses. If you are diseased right now, all it takes is one rebuke in the name of the Lord, and the devil will flee.

Now, if you think that the devil can attack you and affect you at any time, then think again. The devil has no right or authority to harm you, UNLESS you give him that authority.

Here’s what I mean by that: Ephesians 04:27 says:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

You’re the one responsible for not letting the devil inside

You are the one responsible for keeping the devil out of your heart. You have the decision to make about who you’re going to give place in your heart to: the Living Jesus Christ, or the devil. Sin, reject Christ, ignore the Word of God, and your heart is already occupied by the evil spirit. On the other hand, repent, pray, love God, be righteous, believe, and you your life will be much better, for the King of Kings will dwell within your heart.

You are the one responsible for holding up your faith and repelling the devil. How can you repel the devil? Here’s how:
Ephesians chapter 6 verse 11 says:

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

That is precisely how you can stan?????????????????d against the devil’s attacks. Put on the WHOLE armor of God, not just a few parts of it. In my previous posts, I have talked in detail about each and every part of the armor, and you can check each of them out by moving your mouse over the tab that says “Armor of God” and clicking on each article.

The devil does not like anything you do to please God. He wants control over man, the creation of God, and he’s constantly trying to make his dreams come true. Our faith and righteousness is what shatters his dreams.

Every time we stand up for the Lord, every time we proclaim His kingdom, every time we turn away from sin, every time we pray for the will of God, we are trampling upon theMan_holding_Bible-370x278 devil’s spirit. Every time we preach the word of God, every time we lead another to faith, every time we reject the tempting offers of the devil, his plans are failing, and his powers are becoming useless against us and the ones around us.

No one wants to hear about the devil. Most people just go on about the blessings of the Lord and teach people of nothing but bliss and happiness. Yes, the Lord is a good God. He is the kindest Being to ever exist. But we need to also be aware of how the devil, our enemy, works. How can we defeat or proclaim victory over an enemy unless we know his tactics and know how to fight them?

I am not afraid to speak of the devil, because he is nothing but a liar, an evil entity that wants nothing but to destroy the happiness of the True Children of God, and if my readers know what tricks he has in his hat, then my readers will be able to foresee his deception and fight against him.

Our Lord has already claimed victory over sin and death. He is the King of all Kings, and the ultimate power is with Him. Victory is His, and victory is ours.
